چکیده
This study focused on simulating incompressible viscous flow using the finite element method. used velocity and pressure as unknowns known primitive variable formulations. Simulation of fluid poses numerical challenges due to presence nonlinear convective terms in Navier-Stokes equations nature fluid. If connection between velocities is not discretized correctly, stable convergent might be gained, but obtained will oscillatory. To avoid these difficulties, continuous quadratic additional cubic bubble functions for field linear field. kind discretization satisfies Ladyzhenskaya-Babuška-Brezzi (LBB) stability condition. Two cases different Reynolds numbers were test formulation's effectiveness. In case number 0.12, no vortices formed, suggesting that primarily governed by friction, inertia has minimal effect. 120, vortex formation, which Von Kármán street, appeared. These results concluded formulation method correct.

Numerical Computations of Viscous, Incompressible Flow Problems Using a Two-Level Finite Element Method
Abstract. We consider two-level finite element discretization methods for the stream function formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations. The two-level method consists of solving a small nonlinear system on the coarse mesh, then solving a linear system on the fine mesh. The basic result states that the errors between the coarse and fine meshes are related superlinearly. This paper demonstrates ...
متن کاملA Finite Element Method for Viscous Incompressible Thermal Flows
A finite element method for steady-state viscous incompressible thermal flows has been developed. The finite element equations are derived from a set of coupled nonlinear Navier-Stokes equations that consists of the conservation of mass, momentum, and energy equations. These derived finite element equations are validated by developing a corresponding finite element computer program that can be ...
متن کاملLarge-eddy Simulation of Incompressible Viscous Fluid Flow by the Spectral Element Method
We present the large-eddy simulation of the lid-driven cubic cavity flow by the spectral element method (SEM) using three subgrid-scale models. Two spectral filtering techniques suitable for these simulations have been implemented. Numerical results for Reynolds number Re = 12.000 are showing very good agreement with the Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) results and relatively good agreement wi...
متن کاملFinite Element Methods for the Simulation of Incompressible Powder Flow
Abstract. The flowing of powders brings a new challenging and interesting problem to the CFD community: at very high concentrations and low rate-of-strain, grains are in permanent contact, rolling on each other. Therefore a frictional stress model must be taken into account. This can be done using plasticity and similar theories in which the granular material behaviour is assumed to be independ...
